Comparative Literature Organization for Undergraduate Discussion (CLOUD)
The Comparative Literature Organization for Undergraduate Discussion (CLOUD) is a group open to all students interested in the study and discussion of literature and film. CLOUD hosts a number of events throughout the school year, including the International Film Series in the Spring semester and the yearlong Cult Lit Classics Discussion Series.
International Film Series:
The theme of the 2008 International Film Series is "(Re)Visions of History," how both personal and political history is revised both consciously and unconsciously by those who write it down/remember it/recount it. All films will be shown in the basement of Graham Memorial Rm. 039.

Cult Lit Classics Discussion Series:
Our Cult Lit Classics Discussion Series focuses on works of well-known writers not often taught in the classroom. In 2006-2007, we read and discussed Jorge Luis Borges' short story "The Immortal" and Milan Kundera's novel The Unbearable Lightness of Being. In the Fall 2007 semester, we discussed Jack Kerouac's On the Road. We are currently organizing more events for the Spring 2008 semester and are considering J.D. Salinger, Kurt Vonnegut, Jose Saramago, and Paul Auster.
